TYPICAL PROJECT - Click on image to enlarge

Flood Meadows is a wonderful area of old watercress beds and parkland, maintained by enthusiastic volunteers working within the Alton Society, a local community group. The area is of major importance to wildlife, and provides part of a corridor of green space through the town.

Meeting once a month, the group pick litter, plant trees and hedgerows and keep the footpaths maintained.

For this project we provided materials to rejuvenate a yew hedge, which was planted as part of a screen to intrusive local housing development.

An article in Hampshire Magazine was produced just after the time of the planting. A copy is presented here.
